Space Creation

Overview

The Space Creation panel inside a Mantis workspace empowers users to refine, expand, and manage their analysis environment. It provides tools to re-embed data, update clustering and labels, add new floors, upload space definitions, and review workspace statistics—all in one unified panel.

Purpose

  • Dynamically refine data organization and labeling as analysis progresses.
  • Add new data layers (floors) or import external definitions for modular exploration.
  • Enable iterative updates and improvements to space structure and clustering.
  • Track and review workspace statistics for better understanding and optimization.

Key Features

  • Refine Space: Invoke re-embedding, clustering, dimensionality reduction, or relabeling on demand.
  • Add Floor: Import additional data layers by uploading CSV files.
  • Upload JSON: Bulk update or restore the entire space using a JSON definition.
  • Space Statistics: Instantly review point, cluster, and feature metrics for the current workspace.
  • Live Updates: All changes are reflected immediately in your active session.

How to Use

  • Refine Space
    1. Select the Refine Space tab.
    2. Choose the phase to invoke (e.g., Re-Embed, Clustering, Labeling).
    3. Configure options (select metadata columns, if needed).
    4. Click Invoke Phase—the selected operation will update your space.
  • Add Floor
    1. Go to the Add Floor tab.
    2. Follow the exact directions as 'Creating a Space'
  • Upload JSON
    1. Click the Upload JSON tab.
    2. Drag-and-drop or select your .json file.
    3. Click Create Space to load the definition.
  • Space Statistics
    1. Open the Space Statistics tab.
    2. View workspace metrics—point counts, cluster summaries, and more.

Tips:

  • Use Refine Space for on-the-fly improvements as your analysis evolves.
  • Add new floors to explore separate data layers or modalities in one space.
  • Import a JSON definition to quickly restore, share, or bulk-update your workspace.
  • Regularly check Space Statistics to monitor changes and validate your space’s structure
