Bags

Overview

The Bags panel collects and displays custom groups of selected points you’ve saved for focused analysis. Bags allow you to label, compare, and revisit subsets of your data as your exploration evolves.

Purpose

  • Save and organize groups of points for further analysis or comparison.
  • Quickly switch between different subsets of interest.
  • Use bags as inputs for plotting, clustering, or downstream workflows.
  • Label and annotate meaningful selections for collaboration or reporting.

Key Features

  • Bag List: View all created bags, each with its name and count of contained items.
  • Selection/Highlighting: Click a bag to highlight its points on the map or in plots.
  • Bag Actions: Rename, annotate, select, clear, or delete bags.
  • Dynamic Updates: Bags update instantly as you add or remove points.

How To

Create a Bag:

  • Select points on the map using the lasso or magic lasso tools.
  • The new bag will now appear in the Bags panel and is available for further actions.

How to Clear or Delete a Bag:

  • Clear Bag: Use the tools panel (or bag controls menu) to remove all points from a selected bag while keeping the bag itself.
  • Delete Bag: Use the delete action in the tools panel (or bag options menu) to permanently remove the bag from your workspace.

Tips:

  • Use bags to keep track of important selections as you explore.
  • Clear a bag to reuse it without losing the label.
  • Delete bags you no longer need to keep your workspace clean.
