Lasso

Overview

The Lasso tool allows users to draw a freeform shape directly on the map or plot, selecting all points within that boundary. It’s designed for intuitive, manual selection, giving users precise control over which data points to group, analyze, or bag.

Purpose

  • Select custom groups of points based on spatial or visual intuition.
  • Capture clusters, outliers, or regions that don’t fit standard geometric boundaries.
  • Enable manual curation and flexible data exploration.

How to Use

  • Activate the Lasso tool from the toolbar or selection menu.
  • Click and hold to draw a shape around the desired points on the map or plot.
  • Release to complete the selection—points inside the drawn area will be highlighted or selected.
  • Use the selection for bag creation, inspection, or further analysis.

Tips

  • Use Lasso for irregularly-shaped groups or when precision is key.
  • Combine with zoom for detailed selection in dense regions.
  • After lassoing, actions like “Add to Bag” or “Inspect” become available for your selection.
